Woman getting adjustment

Upper Cervical Chiropractic at
The Chiropractic Co.

Upper cervical specific chiropractic care focuses on the top vertebrae of the neck (the Atlas) and how it relates with the brain stem and overall health and function. It’s a highly specific specialty that relies on advanced diagnostics to identify the problem and to create a precise adjustment designed to correct it.

At The Chiropractic Co., Dr. Brooks is a Board Certified Advanced Atlas Orthogonal (upper cervical) chiropractor. This unique approach can be quite effective in helping to identify the root cause of chronic conditions and correct them at the source.

Our Approach

Advanced orthogonal work begins with a careful diagnosis. We use CLA INSiGHT™ scans to assess the condition and function of your nervous system. We also do a thorough physical, orthopedic and neurological examination. Finally, we take very specific digital X-rays (onsite) to locate the specific misalignment that is causing the problems. These objective tests are very helpful, because the patient can see objectively how their body is functioning and how the top vertebra in their neck is positioned.

After Dr. Brooks reviews the scans and the X-rays, he will calculate the proper angle of adjustment. The adjustment consists of moving one specific bone—the Atlas—using only six pounds of pressure using a specialized adjusting instrument.

The adjustment is safe and gentle, with no twisting, cracking or popping. Then we take a post-adjustment X-ray to ensure that the proper correction has been made. Patients love being able to see objectively the change that has been made. This type of adjustment doesn’t require frequent care over a long period of time—it’s designed to restore alignment and help your body hold that alignment so it can heal.
